about

Edward Mordake is claimed to be a 19th century heir to one of the peerages in England who had an extra face on the back of his head. According to the story, the extra face could neither eat nor speak, but it could laugh and cry.

Edward begged doctors to have his 'devil twin' removed, because, supposedly, it whispered horrible things to him at night, but no doctor would attempt it. He committed suicide at the age of 23.

lyrics

It’s now that I understand
You and I were meant to be men
Not two lost souls inside one shell

It is now that I understand
Not a curse a brother instead

Silent friend

Restless nights drowning in the laments
Terrified the suggestions intense
Silent hate at brother’s intent
Whispering uncouth things in his head

Sleep no more for you slew the whore
our mother too frail for the bearing
Rest assured my toment is pure
Know I shall not let you forget it!

Silence friend
Least of all doth I wish to bear ill will towards my brother

Not a say not a choice not a life
Not a voice this existence futile
But a face on the back of your head
Not even loved for our mother is dead

No control on the path I’m to take
you took all from me
but this life to which I still cling
unwillingly

Please brother let us die
we shall meet again out of time
be it below or on high

And now you will understand
as our lungs slowly run out of air
as equals at last we must die

about

Hollow Montréal, Québec

One notable feature is the band’s make-up which is applied before every show using the airbrush by a Montreal’s artist Bob Skelton. The music combines symphonic and orchestral elements to heavy riffs, progressive structures and a black metal atmosphere. Highly energetic performances that give out a very theatrical vibe, HOLLOW are a band made for the stage. ... more
